:what are the steps to get the stock silver finish wheels polished? It's a hell of a lot of work. Basically, you have to remove the paint, then smooth the aluminum using progressively finer abrasives until the shine makes you happy. I started with paint remover for the paint, then I used various grits of wet-or-dry paper on the aluminum. I suppose I could have tried and air grinder with abrasive discs, but it's really hard to access the inside corners. I got a few spots smooth and shiny, then gave up and paid $150 each to have someone else do it. I figure it would have taken me about 6-8 hours of hard work for each wheel, so the price seemed reasonable. It's a vast mprovement in appearance over stock, and they will never flake like chrome. Also, if you lightly bump a curb, you can fix the damage yourself. ;-) Henry
